Travel in Bingöl
Bingöl (known as Çapakçur) , located on the main road leading from Edirne to Van in the North of Anatolia at upper Euphrates, is an attractive city due to its climate, rich vegetation, water sources, spas, natural beauties and rich historical assets. Bingöl is almost a terra incognita (undiscovered land).
The basic charm and beauty of Bingöl comes from its nature. Evliya Çelebi the famous and well known turkish traveler describes the natural beauties of Bingöl in his Itinerary. Evliya Çelebi, counts many plateaus located in various regions of Turkey and defines that the most famous, most beautiful and most admired plateau is the one in Bingöl. Çelebi the famous traveler, mentions about his admiration of the plant species, the various flowers, lakes and fish species that grows in lakes in Bingöl and talks about the legends about the lakes at the region.
Floating Island: Located at the Aksakal neighbourhood of the village of Hazarşah in Solhan-Bingöl, the floating islands have been taken under protection by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism as natural asset. Having been discovered by local people, the islands have very rare natural phenomenon. The islands being located at the 45th km of the highway between Bingöl-Muş and 1,5 km interior of the road, are accessible via highway. The lake having a glacier formation on a plain field is surrounded by mountains and a hill from 3 sides. There is a continuous deep flow to the lake which is 400 m2 wide and 50 m deep. The water running under and sides of the lake feeds the Masalla River. Water level is the same in summer and winter. Because the water’s sweet and pure taste and it doesn’t contain any mineral salt, keeping fish is possible here.
There are three islands floating on the lake. Being independent from each other, they move slowly if stepped on. One of the islands has three ash trees on it. The plants around get nourished with the water of the lake. Because of the covering feature of roots of plans on the island, the soil is well-mixed with them. When you look deeper into the structure of the islands, you see grass and plants growing n water. Surrounding plantation is also diverse. The lake being lower then the field around is encircled with oak tree and greenness.
Hot Spring (SPA)
Located at the20th km of the highway of the town of Karlıova, the hot springs are accessible easily. The facility has 16 single rooms, 10 motels, two swimming pools: one covered and one uncovered, restaurants, cafes and public garden. The water samples taken from thermal spring pool in 1981were sent to Department of chemical Analysis in Ankara Refik Saydam Hygiene Center and underwent analysis. According to the results, the water is of the groups of waters with bicarbonate, carbon dioxide and carbon-soda. And the water also consists of chlorine and anion such as sulphate and silicate with iron and aluminium cation.
